MaxwellSTUDIO FAQs
Is MaxwellSTUDIO a store?
MaxwellSTUDIO is a family-owned luxury STUDIO space that offers personal appointment service with some general open hours. We curate an exclusive shopping selection and create garments for men and women who value craftsmanship, discretion, and elevated personal style.
If you see us in the STUDIO, please feel free to stop in! We would love to welcome you in to converse and shop if we are not hosting a client.
Why is MaxwellSTUDIO appointment-only?
We operate by private appointment to prepare the clothing or fabric selection for the client, ensuring we have the right sizes and items needed and to allow for our undivided attention in a private setting. This allows us to provide a tailored, one-on-one experience focused entirely on the client’s wardrobe, lifestyle, and preferences — without distractions or pressure.
Luxury is not rushed. It is considered.
Do you work with men and women? I only see menswear in the STUDIO.
Yes, we work with men and women! As our STUDIO space is limited, we choose to focus on the men’s collections which offer more stocked options and made-to-measure. For women’s appointments, we pull from our flagship store, Maxwell & Co, to have selections ready to view based on the client’s needs and requests.

- Kiton
- Transit

Is MaxwellSTUDIO family-owned?

How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be requested through our website or by contacting us directly by phone, text, or DM. We will ask a few questions to ensure we have the right sizes and selections to show at the appointment. Once scheduled, we prepare in advance for your visit to ensure a thoughtful, seamless, successful and enjoyable experience.
MaxwellSTUDIO Made-to-Measure
Do you offer fully bespoke services?
Yes. MaxwellSTUDIO offers fully bespoke tailoring for clients seeking a garment crafted entirely from the pattern up.
Our bespoke process includes:
- Initial design consultation
- Fabric selection from exclusive mill partners
- Fittings
- Pattern creation unique to your body
- Hand-finished detailing
A bespoke garment is not simply tailored — it is architected around you.
What is the difference between bespoke and made-to-measure?
Bespoke is built from an individual pattern drafted exclusively for you.
Made-to-measure adjusts an existing block pattern to your measurements.
We offer both services and guide you toward the option that best suits your needs, timeline, and investment level.
Do you offer custom footwear?
Yes, we partner with Bontoni, a multi-generation Italian brand who craft fine Italian hand-made shoes, fusing history and tradition with modern design. Bontoni is “small-batch” and can produce no more than 12 pairs of shoes per day, and less than 3000 pairs per year. Bontoni’s nine-person workshop is located on the outskirts of Montegranaro in the Marche Region of Italy.
We will try you in a pair of Bontoni’s to confirm your perfect shoe size then choose the leather or suede color, sole, any motif details, and style of your dreams!
How long does the bespoke process take?
Timelines vary depending on garment type and fabric availability. On average:
Made-to-measure is 4–6 weeks and fully bespoke: 8–12 weeks. Shoes take about 4.5 months.
We recommend beginning the process well in advance of key events.
